Bear Y-DNA Study

I have no idea if this is reputable, and as I'm not a direct male descendent, I'll leave it to those interested to check out further: http://www.geocities.com/bear_dna_project/index.html

Hi Christina!
Thanks for mentioning this site. I am the co-administrator of the project, along with Mike Barr. I am not a direct male descendant of my Bair family either, but I participated in the project by asking a direct male descendant (a third cousin of mine) to provide the sample (a swab of the inside of his cheek).

If you would like to learn more, there are tutorials on the Family Tree DNA site and the DNA Heritage site.

Thanks again for mentioning our project!

Hi Cathi, the only still living male Bear that I've ever been in touch with is my great uncle and he's not the sort to do this. But perhaps another Bear relative of mine will run across this post and decide to participate! (Let me know if you do!)
